Why is SNSD’s Seohyun the only member holding a bow?

Recently, SM Entertainment revealed three sets of photo teasers for SNSD’s guerrilla-type comeback on the idol group’s official website. For those of you who have yet to peep the photos, check out batches onetwo, and three.
The teasers having been garnering explosive interest from both fans and the general public, as the concept screams a “retro ’60’s ‘James Bond“ theme. Rocking those thigh-high boots, most of the girls are posing with toy guns. Yet eagle-eyed fans have noticed that maknae Seohyun is the only one holding a white bow and arrow.
SM explained, “While it is a spy concept, we created the image to signify that we will lure the fans by shooting an arrow to their hearts. To further amplify the song’s meaning, Seohyun got to hold the bow. Other members also held the bow during the photoshoot, however we decided Seohyun suited holding the bow and arrow the best.”
SNSD will be revealing their MV teaser on October 24th at midnight. They will unleash their mini-album on the 27th, and finally make their official comeback through KBS ‘Music Bank’ on the 29th.

2AM goes up against SNSD for the third time this year

2AM will be going up against SNSD for the third time this year with their first official album, “Saint O’Clock,” due for release on October 26th, and SNSD’s “Hoot” due for release the next day on the 27th.
This is the third time their promotion cycles have overlapped, the first cycle being 2AM’s “Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die” going up against SNSD’s “Oh!,” both released just four days apart.
2AM’s follow-up track, “I Did Wrong,” was released on March 16th, and again, SNSD followed with “Run Devil Run” on March 22nd.
Although both of 2AM’s tracks were recorded as big hits, the majority of industry representatives believe that 2AM could have fared better if they weren’t up against SNSD during both promotion cycles.
They’ll be facing each other off once more, this time with SNSD’s guerrilla style release, already dominating portal sites and search rankings with just their teasers alone. But 2AM has been showing themselves as strong competitors as well. This being their first official album release, the anticipation for the album has remained consistently high, with their official homepage already crashing with just audio teasers.
Both groups have done fantastic thus far, with 2AM showing their power on digital music charts while SNSD dominating album sales charts. SNSD hit a home run right off the bat while 2AM steadily and consistently worked their way up. Each face-off has brought more changes in the styles of each group, from dance, to ballad, to mature concepts, and to cute concepts, furthering the anticipation of music fans as to what they’ll show off next, and how they’ll fare this time around.

SM Entertainment responds to the lip-syncing criticism

SM Entertainment recently expressed their thoughts in regards to the criticism that SNSD have been receiving for their alleged lip-syncing during their concerts in Taiwan.
On October 20th, SM Entertainment stated, “During the most recent concert in Taiwan, SNSD performed and sang over 30 songs live.”
They continued, “There were some songs where they lip-synced due to the strong choreography, but we did this only to emphasize the dancing and to put on a better on-stage performance for the Taiwanese fans to enjoy. We’re saying this again, SNSD danced and sang live to most of their songs for both their Taiwan concerts.”
SM Entertainment added, “And because the Taiwanese fans saw SNSD putting in their best effort, they passionately cheered them on throughout both concerts. SNSD was also aware that this was their first independent concert in Taiwan as well, which is why they put on an even more passionate performance – but to hear controversy over just a few songs in which they lip-synced only to emphasize the dancing is really unfair.”
SNSD held a two-day concert in Taiwan at the Taipei Arena on the 16th and 17th of October, for their first Asia tour concert, called  ‘Into the New World’.

SNSD’s Yuri voted #1 for glass-like skin

SNSD’s Yuri was voted the girl group member with the best skin.
A survey was conducted from September 27th to October 18th where 748 people voted on ‘The girl group member with the best glass-like skin without any blemishes?‘ SNSD’s Yuri won first place, earning 362 votes (48.3%). Second place went to 2NE1’s Dara, with 209 votes (27.9%). BEG’s Ga-Inwas third place with 167 votes (22.3%).
Dr. Han Seung Sub commented, ‘SNSD’s Yuri has clear and bright skin without blemishes or freckles. The skin is a good indication of your internal organs’ state. Yuri possesses clean and clear skin, which also means that she is in perfect health…Dara and Ga-In’s fresh faces also show that they have clear skin. Their bright skin tones can leave an impression of a gentle and cute girl.’
It’s also a neat coincidence that ‘yuri‘ means glass in Korean. Who do you think has the best skin?
